01 Charging piles should pay attention to rain-proof design
The industry's accepted waterproof capability of charging facilities should be at least outdoor IP54 level, which means that any angle of spraying is waterproof. So generally when it rains, the charging facility will not have problems due to water ingress. During the construction of charging facilities, ground hardening and foundation protection are carried out at the bottom of the charging facility so that 20-30 cm below the body of the charging pile is protected against water flooding. The charging ports of public charging posts are usually designed to be recessed and surrounded by an insulating seal with a drainage design. The charging gun is also insulated between each hole to prevent rainfall from having any effect on charging. Outdoor charging facilities try to add rain shelters where possible.
02 Charging piles should be equipped with lightning protection
Charging piles have lightning arrester devices installed to prevent damage to equipment struck by lightning. Do not use the charging piles for charging during lightning and thunder, especially in the open air where there is a great danger. This is because when charging a new energy vehicle, the charging line in working condition will transmit a large amount of current, especially when it rains the wire will be in a wet state and has a certain conductivity. In the event of a lightning strike, there is a high risk that the charging pile will be struck. Although the charging post is connected to the ground, a strike on the charging post may generate a large amount of current and voltage, which can be dangerous.
03 Charging stations should be equipped with leakage protection
The charging pile should be designed with double leakage protection and the charging pile and the power supply should be equipped with a leakage protection device so that in case of leakage, the power can be disconnected in the charging pile or the power supply box in time to stop the power supply.
04 Emergency pause button should be installed at the charging pile
The charging pile should be equipped with an emergency stop button and installed in a conspicuous position. In the event of a dangerous moment, pressing the emergency stop button can cut off the output switch to stop charging in 100 milliseconds.
05 Charging piles should be equipped with fire extinguishers, or even with intelligent fire extinguishing devices
The charging pile should be equipped with a fire extinguisher at the time of construction and, where possible, an automatic fire extinguishing device should be installed inside the pile.
