The MHEV normally consumes the most fuel when starting and idling, but the MHEV carries a 48V electrical system that collects electricity. With this 48V electrical system providing the kinetic energy when the car starts and stops, it is possible to save significantly on fuel consumption. Moreover, the 48V power system can still power the air conditioning compressor after the engine has stopped.
